INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CLEANING
AND OILING OF THE INSTRUMENTS.

Advice for the cleaning and oiling of the tools.
Oiling:
use the almond oil (the same oil used in the kitchen for desserts).
it is recommended to give the oil within the three parts of the instrument as follows:
Take the pieces on the side of the conjunction, high piece with bass and low piece with bell, keep it
horizontally and put 3/4 drops of almond oil at the beginning, then tilt it downwards so that the oil arrives
halfway through the Internal room.
At this point, introduce the toothbrush (do not use animal penne or other toothbrush of different sizes from
those indicated for their instrument) and sprinkle the oil slowly and uniformly on the entire internal surface.
It is recommended to do this in the evening before storing the tool.
This procedure, if made constantly, in addition to preserving the wood inside will facilitate the elimination of
condensation that is formed when playing.
Mechanics:
Do not clean the mechanics and/or wood with clothes with chemicals solutions, because it would be
encountered to oxidation of the argenting and damage to the wood.
Preferably use soft microfiber clothes.
Heating of the instrument:
We highly recommend that you do not heat the instrument by blowing into the air.
The recommended method is to keep the upper piece under the armpit for a five minutes in order to heat the
piece externally by simple inductive thermal transfer.
The part to be heated is the external one of the barrel piece and high piece as regards the clarinet and in the
oboe the upper piece.
Important warning:
It is not advisable to play an instrument just received after an expedition (in the winter), but to wait at least 24
hours, letting it be air conditioned again in the environment, leaving it with the open case.
This is necessary for the instrument during transport in the winter to a low temperature, therefore in order to
avoid it needs again to return to an ideal temperature.
Ideal climate and temperature on every occasion are low humidity and not below 20 ° C.
“Attention/warning for clarinet”
Finally, various cases of blackening parts of the mechanics near the beak headquarters in the cunning have
been verified.
Therefore in order to avoid that this happens it is advisable to be very careful in leaving the new “generation”
mouthpieces of a widespread brand (in the specific case those in boats (black) inside the custody.
In the event that this problem appears, the Patricola Fratelli is not responsible for what happened as caused
by objects not of its own manufacture.
We point out that old models do not have and give rise to this problem.

“CAUTION / WARNING”
IT WAS RECENTLY VERIFIED CASES OF BLACKENING PARTS OF MECHANICAL NEAR THE SIDE OF THE MOUTHPIECE INSIDE THE CASE.
WE RECOMMEND TO PAY ATTENTION TO KEEP THESE MOUTHPIECE, IN PARTICULAR THOSE MADE IN BAKELITE (BLACK) INTO THE CASE.
IF THIS PROBLEM APPEARS THE PATRICOLA ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENED.
WE SUGGEST YOU TO KEEP OUT OF THE CASE THESE TYPES OF MOUTHPIECES.
THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR WITH OLD MOUTHPIECE (10 YEARS OR SO).
THANK FOR YOUR ATTENTION.

Today our instruments are renowned throughout the world
thanks to their quality.
